He faced some pretty tough competition for the trophy, including Chris Brown for X, Beyoncé for Beyoncé, Mali Music for Mali Is… and Jhene Aiko for Sail Out.
It's Williams's second award of the night. He also won best music video for "Happy."
He took to Twitter to celebrate the first victory, writing: "Happy just won Best Video at the @TheGRAMMYs! Thanks @wearefromLA @Woodkid @iconoclast_i @MimiValdes FatimaRobinson & all who worked on vid."
